Good Finds

Today was all in all a great day. First of all, my mom surprised me with some good center piece materials from the local thrift store. There are bird houses which were hand paintedvintage glass bottles and quaint ornamental plates.

It's kinda of cute too that my mom thought of buying the plates, her reason was because Miguel was a chef and I enjoy dainty things. It also ties up to our theme for the wedding, which is country, very cute and chic country.

Lastly, while picking up my sister from where ever she is, I accidentally came across a store which sells these adorable mini-lanterns for a reasonable price. It's a perfect addition to the stuff my mom bought us!

 Things are looking up.

Color Motif : Purple

We finally decided on our color motif for the entourage, it will be different shades of Purple

Migs wanted plum like an eggplant (something dark) and and i wanted coral (something bright and fresh) so we compromised and instead its gonna be a mix of different shades of purple from plum to coral. Migs actually likes it :)

          bridesmaids---> maid of honor---> principal sponsors---> mothers

I really don't want my small entourage wearing the same color. I find it too traditional. :)

Our Photographers

Wedding Photographer  - Jaja
+ 2 backup photographers

When I first saw Jaja's website, I instantly loved her shots there's so much innocence, emotions and femininity in her work.I had a chance to talk to her, she's nice and accommodating. I was able to connect with her right away. For me it is important that you have a connection with your photographers and you feel comfortable with them.

It's also funny that when i posted something on my Facebook wall about my wedding preparations, my elementary classmate Joyce commented and referred her photographer sister who happens to be JAJA. Small world indeed. :)

(Backup)Wedding Photographer - Leon

Our dear friend Leon, happily volunteered himself to take photos during our wedding. He graduated as a multimedia artist and is studying photography in Auckland. I have seen his works and they are all great. Leon knows almost all our guests so its easier for him to capture those candid moments since everyone is already comfortable with him. He is also good at landscape photography perfect for our garden wedding. (Thanks Leon for my blog's cover photo/header. Photo taken while vacationing in Auckland:p)

We're so blessed to have Jaja and Leon as our photographers on our wedding day. God is good! :)

A Rebel Bride

Rebellious Bride

Definition: Someone who is not afraid to question "traditions" and say what is on their mind.

Rebellious Bride has been my bible ever since I started my wedding planning. I really wanted a simple but unique wedding that all my family and friends will surely remember. Reading their articles and features has inspired me to think outside the box.

Here's some of my rebellious bride ideas:

1. Mix and match colors for my entourage
2. No first dance
3. Write our own vows
4. DIY (do it yourself) props
5. Have a reggae band play few songs during the reception
6. Having my closest friends be part of my wedding preparations
7. No heels for my bridesmaids and maid of honor so i won't look very small beside them. haha

Help me think off more unique and fun ideas as these rebellious brides!!! :)
