Our Caterer: Purpledish by Chef Velmor

Okay now that we have our venue, looking for a caterer that will pass Migs' standards was tough. Since he's a chef, he is very particular with the food. Tita Gigi (Migs' mom) and I went to a bridal fair to have our food tasting at one of the top caterers but ended up disappointed. Afterwards, we decided to have a quick coffee break at Starbucks reviewing some of the packages from different caterers from the fair  and reading the complimentary wedding magazine. That's where we saw Purpledish by Chef Velmor. His take on food was very personal and very unique adding his own twist.  He immediately caught our attention. So the next day I called him and asked for his package. At first i was hesitant because it seems that he's way beyond our budget, but what the hell let's see! Surprisingly, the package was okay plus it comes with a wedding stylist - Gideon Hermosa. Yes yes Gids Hermosa one of the top wedding stylist! I said to myself this is it! this is it!!! But wait, we have to try the food first.

Chef Velmor, only does private food tasting at his restaurant in Manila, Cucina ni Chef, former Dolce Vita. I was with Tita Gigi, and two of Migs Aunt (Tita Pong and Tita Aileen) and family friend. We had our one-on-one consultation with Velmor himself, letting us try his pizza, soup (i love the pumpkin soup), homemade bread and dips, salad ( i love the dressing), appetizers, beef, pasta and the desserts.  They were all good.

So there, we will have Purpledish as our caterer. Next agenda, my first gown fitting, meeting with the coordinator and Gids Hermosa for the styling. Happy Happy!

Ceremony and Reception Venue

So sorry I have been MIA for a while and had no time to update my blog. As you know there are a lot of changes over the past weeks like changing our venue. hahaha!  Yes last minute change of heart when i saw this very beautiful estate in Tagaytay. If only i knew about the place earlier it could have saved me from all the trouble. It's relatively new to the public. They were featured in Metro Magazine. Here's a glimpse of the place.

Another nice note: The family representative from the place, Cicis Jimenez, is so nice and very accommodating. She's been quite a joy to talk to, giving me so many tips and suggesting suppliers.

My rating: Two thumbs up!!!

Preps: Hotel Kimberly

Preps: Hotel Kimberly, Tagaytay

Initially we were supposed to have our Ceremony/Reception at the Gardens of Hotel Kimberly. Change of plans, we decided to move our ceremony and reception but still in Tagaytay. The hotel staff was nice enough to replace our initial deposit in exchange of two rooms. Whew at least our money wasn't wasted!!! :)

They have a very spacious garden and nice outdoor pool.

Very neat zen inspired rooms. The hotel lobby has a homy feel to it. :)
